ACCESS
Access to the countryside can help improve the local economy, improve access to local areas, and allow people to enjoy biodiversity in the countryside .
Access activities however, must be carefully managed to ensure that environmental impacts are minimised and landowners' interests are addressed.
It is impossible for all areas to be accessible - hence the phrase: "Access for all, but not access everywhere."

Access Code: The Belfast Hills Partnership has been working alongside various access officers, landowners, farmers, the Environment and Heritage Service and community groups to produce an access code with general guidelines on how to look after yourself and the environment when out and about on the Belfast Hills.
This document can be obtained from the downloads section.
Health: The Belfast Hills provide a great opportunity with the perfect setting to encourage people who do not engage in physical activity to get out and get healthy.
People who are suffering from potentially life threatening illnesses can dramatically improve their quality of life by getting out and into the hills for a healthy walk.
Check out our healthy walking section of the website for further information.
Events: The Belfast Hills Partnership holds a number of events throughout the Belfast Hills to enable communities to discover the delights of the natural world on their doorsteps. Check out details of upcoming events from the Events section of our website.
Sites to visit and use: Due to the increasing number of publicly accessible sites, the general public may now walk over roughly 30 per cent of the Belfast Hills.
Check out our Where to Walk section for more details on how to get to the various public sites.
