Colin Glen - Get Healthy!
Colin Glen Forest Park is a linear park, making it a great place for you to build up your fitness levels.
This walk allows you to set yourself a time goal and simply turn back when half the allocated time is up. You can then attempt to break your own record for distance walked!
There are a number of seats along the park for you to have a well earned break from your healthy walking.
Walking Routes
There are 4 way marked trails throughout the site:
Tom of the Tae End (Green) Trail: this 1.2 mile route leads you as far as a Gamekeeper's bridge where a toll was once charged for crossing the river. Takes approximately 45 minutes.
Grade: Easy Access as a section of steps are optional
Englishtown (Yellow) Trail: this 2.2 mile route follows the river along much of its route. Takes approximately 1 hour.
Grade: Easy Access
Ballycullo (Blue) Trail: a 2.8 mile route which takes in panoramic views of Belfast including the Mourne Mountains, Stormont and Harland and Wolff. Takes approximately 1 ½ hours.
Grade: Leisurely
Hannahstown (Red) Trail: this 4 mile route is most suited to the serious walker and leaves lower Colin Glen into the National Trust-owned upper Glen. Takes approximately 2 hours.
Grade: Leisurely
