Eve of the Titanic walk
Date:
Saturday 14 April 2012 10:30 am - 1:00 pm
We are leading a guided hill walk on Cave Hill on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the loss of RMS Titanic.
People will be able to see views of 'Titanic Town' below and locate landmarks that are forever woven into the story of the construction of the doomed liner.
There will be a reflective pause at McArt’s Fort to look out over Belfast Lough from where Titanic set sail prior to her catastrophic maiden voyage to New York when she sank with the loss of over 1,500 souls on April 15, 1912.
Price: Over 18s £2. Children and unemployed, free. Just turn up on the day.
Not suitable for children under 10. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times on the walk. Wear sturdy boots, wrap up warm and bring waterproof clothing. Bring a snack and a drink. Bring binoculars if you wish.
This walk is steep in places. The pace will be leisurely.
