Glenside Community Woodland
This lovely community woodland is a link route that joins to Upper Colin Glen. The diverse site - well worth exploring - includes a flooded disused quarry, waterfall, wetland areas and mixed woodland.
How to get there
Walking
You can walk up to the site from Colin Glen Forest Park centre where parking is available. For detailed instructions, download Divis to Dixon Directions.
Pedestrian access is also available on Upper Springfield Road near car breakers yard and GAA grounds. Take extreme care as this is a dangerous stretch of road with no footpath.
By Car
At present there is no car park at this site. Leave M1 at Junction 2. Take the A55 (outer ring), signed Falls. Go straight across the first two roundabouts. From dual carriageway, turn left onto Upper Springfield Road. Continue for about 2 miles until just before GAA grounds where you will see the roadside Pedestrian access. Take extreme car walking along this road.
Public transport
Translink Metro: Ulster bus no 106 between Belfast and Crumlin via Hannahstown, alight Upper Springfield Road by car breakers yard and GAA grounds. Entrance to Glenside is on opposite side of road. Pedestrian access. Take extreme care crossing and walking along this road.
Walking routes
An extensive network of paths runs throughout Glenside Community Woodland but it also forms part of the linear route each way between Divis and upper Colin Glen. There is a circular route within Glenside that takes about 1 hour to complete

There is open access to this site all year round
Private taxis will charge about £9 to £10 to bring visitors to Glenside and Divis and Black Mountain from Belfast city centre
