Man About Dog and The Mighty Celt

Pearse Elliott was born and went to school in west Belfast beneath Black Mountain. The playwright from the Lenadoon estate was nominated for the Irish Film and Television Best New Talent Award for his 2004 feature film, Man About Dog.

The following year, he made his second feature, The Mighty Celt, starring Robert Carlyle and Gillian Anderson. The film was nominated for Best Script and Best Film at the IFTAs and was a critical success. Other works include Shrooms, Short Back and Sides and Pulling Moves for the BBC.
