Titanic
The film - a fictionalised account of the sinking of the 'unsinkable' vessel - was the biggest grossing movie of its time, being the first to reach the billion dollar mark.
Cameron shot footage of the actual Titanic wreck on the ocean floor where it sank on its maiden voyage to New York in April 1912 after hitting an iceberg.
The film recreated the tragedy and featured some real-life characters who were aboard and events that occurred on the ship when it sank off the Newfoundland coast taking along with her some 1,800 souls.
