Colin Glen Winter Walk Success

Almost 30 people turned out to enjoy an enchanting winter wonderland walk at Colin Glen Forest Park on Saturday (Jan 9) lead by the Belfast Hills Partnership.

Manager of the Partnership, Dr Jim Bradley took the group of snow walkers up through the Colin site along the ColinRiver to part of the new Divis toDixon link which joins upper Colin Glen to Glenside Community Woodland at Hannahstown in Lisburn.

The group was treated to the sight of the spectacular waterfall and flooded quarry on the boundary of Lisburn – a hidden jewel of the Belfast Hills.

An arsenal of snowballs was deployed on the New Year walk and those who made the effort to get out and enjoy the snow were awarded with breathtaking views across Co Down to the snow-coveredMourneMountains.

“We were certainly treated to a glorious winter wonderland of snow and sunshine along some of the most beautiful sites in the Belfast Hills and we were well warmed up this winter. It was certainly a day none of us will forget for a very long time,” said Dr Bradley.

Details of the next walk and other events can be found in our events section. Members of the public can sign up to receive updates about upcoming events.
